Terms of Hire

Normal terms and conditions of rental apply at all times. All rates include VAT & insurance and are subject to availability. Despite the purchase of insurance an excess of £250 for Cars & Vans, £500 on 7.5tn Lorry hires will be charged in the event of vehicle damage. Insurance cover is for UK mainland only unless clearance is granted prior to rental. Rate reductions are available for renters providing their own insurance cover (please ask for details). Rates include breakdown recovery.

Drivers

Standard age limits are 25-80 years old and drivers must possess a full category British driving licence for the type of vehicle rented. With some conditions & higher excess charged we can cover 21-24 year old drivers.

Overseas visitors must produce a valid domestic driving licence accompanied by a passport.

Some driving convictions/points on licence can be accepted, any major ban (excluding totting up standard 6mth ban) cannot be covered by insurers for a period of 5years once licence reinstated.

An administrative charge will be made for any additional drivers. No person other than the renter or approved additional driver/drivers are permitted to drive the vehicle rented.

Vehicle Rentals

Car Rental

Minimum rental period is 1 day (max 24hrs).

Mileage allowance: 1-5 Days - 200 miles per day / 1000 per week for short term private hires.

Mileage excess: All Cars - 20p per mile for longer journeys past the allowed 200pd / 1000pw.

Van Rental

Minimum rental period is 1 day (max 24hrs) hours - subject to availability a 4 hour hire is possible.

Mileage allowance: 1-5 Days - 200 miles per day / 1000 per week for short term private hires.

Mileage excess: All Vans - 20p per mile for longer journeys past the allowed 200pd / 1000pw.

Additional Charges

• Speeding, Parking, Bus lane fines
• Airport Security Charge
• Rental Extensions
• Admin fee of £15+vat to be applied
• Child Seats available to rent £20 per hire
• Additional drivers to a hire £20

Payments

For advance bookings payment in full is required. For cancellations, 1 day's payment will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is given. Most major credit / debit cards are accepted. Please note we do not accept DINERS card payments.

Airport Security Charge

Due to increased parking costs at Inverness airport a charge of £10 will be added to all reservations for any airport hires.

Rental Extensions

Subject to availability rentals may be extended by contacting the rental office and arranging an extension during time of original rental, failure to do so will result in the vehicle being uninsured.

Vehicle Availability

To avoid disappointment vehicles should be booked in advance. Models shown and all descriptions are for general guidance only and while every effort is made to comply with requirements we cannot guarantee a specific model.

Jack's Self Drive reserve the right to refuse rental and to cancel bookings due to inclement weather and operational problems outwith their control.

Jack's Self Drive also reserve the right to change terms and conditions without notice.
